What you might want to know
Who can become a member?
The statutes distinguish two forms: Full member can be any adult woman who supports the goals of the association – she can take an active part and is entitled to vote at the general meeting. Supporting member can be any natural person who supports the purpose of the association without working actively themselves.
A particular origin or nationality is not a requirement. The application is submitted in writing to the board, with name, age and address.
Do I need to speak good German?
No. German and Turkish are spoken in the association, and at events we translate where needed. Feel free to write to us in whichever language is easier for you.
Can I take part without becoming a member?
Yes. Anyone can come to the women's breakfasts and open events. You can also volunteer without being a member.
What does membership cost?
The amount of the fee is set by the general meeting, which is why it is not stated in the statutes. Write us a short message at info@mifem.deand we will tell you the current fee and send you the membership form.
Do I get a donation receipt?
Yes. mifem e.V. is recognised as a non-profit organisation. After your transfer, send us a short message with your address and we will issue the receipt.
Are the events only for women?
Most activities are aimed at women and other groups affected by discrimination. Public events such as the opening are open to everyone. Each entry states who it is intended for.
